I had a free six-week trial subscription to Quickflix<\/a> recently, and the new Bond movie, Skyfall<\/em>, was the last disc they sent out.<\/p>\n

It didn’t go in quite the direction I thought they were going to go, but it was still a great ride– and what a great song by Adele!<\/p>\n

One of the things that stood out for me, structurally, was Skyfall<\/em>‘s ending.<\/p>\n

Blake Snyder likens the finale of a story to ‘storming the castle.’ Skyfall<\/em> did a great inversion of that idea.<\/p>\n

Instead of storming an enemy ‘castle’, Bond must protect his own ‘castle’ from being stormed.<\/p>\n

I haven’t yet gone through to see how it hits the five parts to that beat Blake talks about, but it was a gripping finale to an enjoyable movie.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
