I started out very basic &#8212; a man. Then I thought about what sort of man needed to go on this journey, and I hesitated between restless and unsettled. Then I thought it was better (more specific and better characterisation) if I referred to him by his job title rather than as &#8216;adjective man&#8217;. I settled on photojournalist and stripped back the adjective.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">My intention is that, underneath the thriller externals, it&#8217;s actually about the protagonist&#8217;s response to the call of God.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There&#8217;s meant to be a menacing\/unsettling vibe because the call to open one&#8217;s eyes to the spiritual is not necessarily gentle or desired. It&#8217;s often an intrusion.
