It is a way of keeping me aware of how much (or little) I’ve been working, and on what projects.

An email I received from The Writer’s Store had a nifty tip, along a similar line. It is an idea inspired by Jerry Seinfeld. He has a calendar that he prints out and sticks at his desk, and on that calendar he marks down every day he writes new material.

He marks off the days where he writes new material, and the idea is to keep stringing work days together. It is a visual reminder and incentive not to ‘break the chain’ of days you’ve worked on scripts.

I love the idea!

And The Writer’s Store has been kind enough to put a link to a PDF of a calendar you, too, can print and put up near your desk as inspiration to write and write.

So remember: Don’t Break the Chain!

For a couple of years I’ve been recording the time I spend working on screenplays.
