50 Loglines in 50 Weeks: #2 – Platform

Here is Logline #2 in my 50 Loglines in 50 Weeks Instagram series. It’s for a contained thriller called PLATFORM.

A troubled activist wakes up chained to a forest platform, his family pleading below, news cameras rolling. But as the pressure mounts and his guilt forces its way to the surface, it’s clear that coming down isn’t just surrender—it’s the one thing he won’t survive.

It’s an idea I had half-a-year ago but I haven’t written the script yet.

The thing I most like about this idea — apart from the fact it’s contained and budget-friendly — is the irony of the title PLATFORM.

The platform is where the protagonist is chained, where the story takes place. And it refers to activism in the sense that a platform is how someone expresses their views, whether that’s a literal platform from which they give a speech, or a social media platform over which they post about issues.
