Learning from L.A. Confidential

I’m currently writing a crime-thriller. It has innocents drawn into an underworld of intrigue, double crosses, and corruption.

I thought I’d sit at the feet of some of the masters of the craft to learn how best to pace the reveals and twists – especially how to write a corrupt character who the audience does not know is corrupt.

To that end, I’ll be reading the script for L.A. Confidential and blogging about what learn.

Written by Curtis Hanson and Brian HelgelandL.A. Confidential won the Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay.

Nothing like learning from the best.
